VermisTerra Featured on High Performance Garden Show

As we looked for informative videos about the microbes living in your soil, I found a great explanation from gardening teacher Lynn Gillespie. Lynn is an organic farmer and gardening educator, who specializes in teaching High Performance Garden systems. I loved her video so much I got her permission to transcribe and post it! Watch a video where Lynn explains concepts from Teaming with Microbes Book, How the Soil Food Web Works.

As I watched more of her online series, I was so impressed. She teaches how to plant week by week, with little weeds, and lots of production. Her vast knowledge made the very interesting to watch.
After some email correspondence, I sent Lynn some of our VermisTerra earthworm castings and nutrient tea to test in her farm. She already composts but was very impressed at the quality of our worm castings. Here’s what she said on her show (Week 7) about JL Organics. Video will be available soon!

“One of the best fertilizers for organic gardens Is worm castings. I use this if I don’t have a great source of compost for my garden.

This week I’d like to introduce you to JL Organics, they are an organic worm company that makes VermisTerra worm castings and worm casting teas for gardens and large scale organic farms.

One of my favorite things about worm castings is they contain millions of soil microbes that can increase the population in your garden.

JL Organics is a family run business. It was started in 2002 and is located in Thermal CA. Their products are certified organic and they work with farms to help them switch from chemical farming to organic farming. They help farmers treat sick plants naturally and they also help gardeners to have organic gardens.

Their VermisTerra worm castings are aged 7-10 years and make sure all the undigested compost is broken down. That is really amazing, that they will take 7-10 years to make a very superior product. So we’ve been testing their castings and their teas right here on the farm, and we are very impressed with their quality. So if you don’t have a good source of compost, then I highly recommend that you get some of the VermisTerra worm castings to feed your soil microbes.”
