Description
VermisTerra Earthworm Casting Tea
VermisTerra® Earthworm Casting Tea is an all natural and organic microbial solution prepared by a proprietary technique.  It is an excellent fertilizer that help increase the ecological diversity and vitality of the soil.  As a byproduct of vermicompost, it contains all the benefits of earthworm castings and more.  Viable plant health and production rely on their relationship with beneficial microbes the tea provides.  Applying our high-quality Earthworm Casting Tea will make your plants more vigorous and healthy.
Improves Soil Structure
Microbes in the teas have the ability to create pore spaces in the soil. More oxygen are able to penetrate into the soil for even more biological activities to occur. As well as plant roots can root into the soil more easily. Well structured soil also soaks up water like sponge to retain water for longer periods.
Bolster Plant Strength
With the Tea providing available nutrients and the microbes enriching the soil, plants will healthy and thrive.
Reduced Exposure To Harmful Chemicals
With VermisTerra Earthworm Casting Tea can reduce the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This keeps you, your children and pets safe as well as being helpful to the environment.
Extended Shelf Life
Unlike standard compost teas, VermisTerra Earthworm Casting Tea does not have a limited shelf life of a few days. Since the necessary micro-organisms require oxygen to live, compost tea begins to lose it’s effectiveness right after aeration is cut off. As a result, harmful pathogens such as E. coli and Salmonella causes a concern as they feed on the bacteria that die off in the compost tea. VermisTerra Earthworm Casting Tea breaks down to even smaller forms of bacteria and contains a higher concentration of nutrients than compost tea, so it can be stored for later use.
Bounteous and Consistent Nutrient Usage
High amount of nutrition are released through the workings of many micro-organisms within VermisTerra Earthworm Casting Tea in addition to the nutriment already present. The microbes break the available nutrients down to be easily picked up by plants.
How To Use Earthworm Casting Tea
Soil Drench
For General Use, including lawns, mix 3 oz of VermisTerra tea for every 1 gallon of water. Feed to plants every 14 days. For fruits and vegetables you can use up to 6 oz per gallon of water weekly. The key is to use a little VermisTerra tea consistently so your soil is inoculated with beneficial microorganisms.
Seeds
Do not use VermisTerra Tea when seed starting. It’s encouraged to inoculate the soil before planting, but do not water seeds with mix because it is an organic acid. Begin using tea once sprouts develop the first set of true leaves.
Foliar Spray
Mix 3 oz VermisTerra tea for every gallon of water in a foliar spray tank. Spray on leaves of plants in the early morning.
Seedlings
Begin using VermisTerra tea on sprouts once they develop the first set of true leaves. Use on seedlings at a rate of 1-2 oz per gallon.Â
Application Frequency
Working with nature takes time. You might see results immediately if your plants are weak, other will see increasing results in 6 months or more. The key is to use VermisTerra tea consistently. Every 7-14 days. You can use it more or less often depending on your time, budget, amount of other amendments being used. and how much you want to push your plants.Â
The longer you use it, the healthier and vigorous you will see your garden becomes. Gardening will be simpler, because healthy plants means time saved. Experience more time to enjoy your plants.Â
Can I mix VermisTerra Tea with other products?
Yes, you can mix with other foliar spray products like Neem oil, Garlic Barrier, chemical fertilizers or pesticides. VermisTerra Tea will enhance the absorption of these other products. If using other fertilizers or amendments, reduce them by 50-70% the suggested rate. This is because the microbes can accelerate decomposition, and aid in absorption.
VermisTerra tea works well with other soil amendments, neem, garlic barrier, fertilizers and even pesticides. The pH is 4.3 so mixing it with tap water usually will bring the pH to an optimal level for all other products. You can mix with other products when foliar spraying.Â
If you are using raw materials like compost, wood shavings, bark, guano, manure- take care to reduce these to only 20% of the soil. The microbes in the tea will accelerate their decomposition, turning them into plant food. If you have too much raw material in the soil, they will require Nitrogen to break down and will pull it from the plant causing leaf burn. The plant will recover in 1-2 weeks and bounce back happily, but you can avoid this stress by using less raw material.
When using other fertilizers and amendments like fish emulsion, reduce them to 50-70% of their suggested rate. The microbes in VermisTerra tea can enhance absorption and aid in availability to the plant, so you can use less for the same results.
Storage
VermisTerra Tea lasts 1-2 years if stored between 40-90 F and kept from freezing. Once you add water to the concentrate, the microbes activate and the solution should be used up within 48 hours. It’s normal for there to be some sediment at the bottom, and small floating white particles (these are bacteria colonies).
