Best Organic Seedling Food

What do you feed seeds and seedlings? How about something gentle, organic, that won’t burn your plants but will give them a healthy headstart? The answer is VermisTerra Vitality.

🌱 In this experiment, I tested Vermisterra Vitality to see how it affects seedling growth — the results were surprising!

I grew Arugula, Swiss chard, Merlot Lettuce, and Purple Choy Sum from seed under the same conditions: same seed packets, same potting soil, and grown indoors with a grow light and fan to mimic outdoor conditions.  

Here’s how I set up the experiment:  

👉 Group 1: (Control): Plants only received water.

👉 Group 2: Diluting Vitality with water, feed to plants every other week.  

When the plants were big enough to transplant, I split each group into two, creating 4 groups total:  

👉Group 1: Receiving only water throughout (Control).  

👉Group 2: Diluting Vitality with water, feed to plants every other week. 

👉Group 3: Started with only water, then switched to Vitality.  

👉Group 4: Started with Vitality, then switched to only water.  

 

 

My observation:  

🌱 Before transplanting, Group 2 (Vitality-fed) grew sturdier and more upright, while Group 1 (water-only) was stretchier and floppier.  

🌱 After transplanting, Group 3 (newly introduced to Vitality) began standing taller and firmer, while Group 4 (stopped receiving Vitality) became weaker and less upright.  

🌱 Group 2 showed no transplant shock, and its roots exploded in growth, even pushing through the wicking fabric!  

🌱 By the end, Group 2 had more vibrant plants, stronger-smelling flowers, and more flavorful leaves compared to the others.   This experiment revealed just how much Vermisterra Vitality can impact plant growth—especially at the root level!
